  • Why can I only book for 7 nights minimum stay?
    This is due to the cleaning rota contract currently in place for change overs at Beauthorn Holiday Cottages. There are certain instances where we may be able to accomodate your booking, regardless of this, so please contact us about your specific dates.
  • Can I bring my pet?
    Yes. Beauthorn Holiday Cottages welcomes dogs, cats and furry friends alike!
  • What are the parking arrangements?
    There is limited parking. So, please contact us if you intend to bring more than one vehicle or a trailer.
  • Would we have the whole place to ourselves?
    You can book both The Cottage and The Coach House accomodation, however there is another cottage attached to the property which is where the owner of the properties, Greta, currently lives.
  • Is the boat house available to book?
    Unfortunately not, at the moment. It's currently undergoing renovations, so watch this space!
  • Do you have a boat for use or can I bring my own boat?
    There is not currently a boat for use at Beauthorn Holiday Cottages and we kindly ask guests not to bring their own boat, as there's nowhere to launch boats on site. However, you are welcome to bring your own kayak, canoe or paddle board.
  • Can I bring my kayak, canoe or paddle board?
    Yes! With the private beach access and jetty, it's the perfect place to enjoy the lake.
  • Can I fish at Beathorn Holiday Cottages?
    Yes! We are lucky anough to have our own private jetty and beach on the edge of Lake Ullswater, which you are welcome to fish from.
  • Is there a shop within walking distance of Beauthorn Holiday Cottages?
    The nearest shop is located in Pooley Bridge, which would take 45 minutes to walk, 5 minutes to drive or approx. 5 minutes on the bus.
  • Is there a barbecue or fire pit?
    No, but you're very welcome to bring your own with you and leave the area you used as you found it. Maybe bring some camp chairs along too and enjoy toasting marshmallows on the beach!
  • Do I need to bring my own logs for the wood stove?
    Yes. Please bring your own logs, kindling and firelighters, as we don't usually store these on site.
